This appears to be an issue namely with pages concerning elections where images of the candidates are displayed with their party affiliation and vote share.
As an example, the images for the candidates in the article for the 1996 US Presidential Election are horizontally compacted, which also stretched the images vertically.
Here is a comparison of how the Wikipedia and Wikimore pages respectively display the images at the links below:

Additionally in election pages with multiple layers of candidates, it appears as though images of candidates clip outside the barriers of the Infobox, making it impossible to view the full contents of the infobox in certain cases.
